Mosque on Levittown Parkway collects donations for earthquake victims in Turkey, Syria

Donations of new clothing, blankets, tents, baby diapers and pain relievers, as well as financial contributions, are being collected at the Turkish American Muslim Cultural Association Yunus Emre Cami (Diyanet) Mosque on Levittown Parkway in Bristol Township to assist the thousands of victims of the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria on Feb. 6.

The donations will be sent to the Turkish Embassy in Washington, D.C., for shipment by air and sea to Turkey, said Iman Murtaza Trabzon of the mosque, who is from Southern Turkey and has relatives who died or were injured in the quakes.

The iman said the donations will be collected from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday night.
