Most of the weekend area high school athletic schedule on hold due to weather.

A cold front with precipitation wiped out most of the area high school athletic events scheduled for Thursday and Friday and also likely could carry into Saturday.

Here are the schedule changes by sport:

Softball

Watertown and Aberdeen Central's teams were each scheduled to play Thursday in Sioux Falls but those games were posted.

The Arrows were supposed to play Sioux Falls Roosevelt and the Golden Eagles were set to face both Sioux Falls Jefferson and Washington. No makeup dates have been announced.

Track and Field

Thursday's cancelled track and field meets included the Charger Invite at Onida and the Flyer Invite at Freeman.

Aberdeen Christian and Roncalli, Frederick Area, Groton Area, McLaughlin, North Central, Northwestern, Potter County, Sunshine Bible Academy and Warner were among the teams slated to compete at Onida.

Clark-Willow Lake, Deubrook Area and Florence-Henry were supposed to head to Freeman.

The Greenway Relays at Mount Vernon on Friday also has been postponed as have been the Tom Main Invite at Chester and the Flandreau Flier Booster Club Invite on Saturday. Area teams were scheduled to compete in those meets.

Boys Tennis

Watertown was set to play Rapid City Central at Brookings on Thursday and Pierre and Sioux Falls Washington on Friday at Sioux Falls. Both events were called off.

The Arrows will now host Pierre indoors at 11 a.m. on Friday at WHS. They'll face Sioux Falls Washington on Tuesday, May 2 in Brookings.

Golf

Scheduled high school golf events hosted by Hamlin and Winner on Thursday were called off.
