SARASOTA, FL — It’s just days away from Mother’s Day, which is celebrated this Sunday, May 8. So, if you plan to treat your mother to brunch or dinner out, you should make your reservations in the Sarasota area now, as they’re likely filling up quickly.

If you’re looking for some local brunch and dinner options in Sarasota County, where are a few restaurants offering Mother’s Day specials:

  • Big Cat Habitat, 7101 Palmer Blvd., Sarasota, May 8, 10 a.m. to noon, featuring brunch, a mimosa bar and yoga with tigers. Tickets are $75 and can be reserved here.

  • Bijou Garden Café, 1287 1st Street, Sarasota, May 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., serving a special a la carte menu, including classic eggs benedict, seasonal BLTs, shrimp cocktail, chicken française, pan-seared salmon, filet mignon and omelette/eggs to order.

  • Duval’s. Fresh. Local. Seafood, 1435 Main Street, Sarasota, May 8, serving a special menu, including hand-cut filet and eggs, Cajun chicken and waffles, omelette Oscar, and homemade seafood Bolognese all day.

  • Mattison’s Forty-One, 7275 S, Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, May 8, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving a special Mother’s Day brunch and dinner menu. There will also be chances to win prizes.

  • Mattison’s City Grille, 1 North Lemon Ave., Sarasota, May 8, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., serving a special Mother’s Day brunch and dinner menu. There will also be chances to win prizes.

  • Overture, 1255 North Palm Ave., Sarasota, May 8, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special brunch menu includes beef tenderloin, roasted halibut, a shrimp and tomato quiche, grilled chicken penne, slow-cooked lamb and more.

  • The Reserve, 1322 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, May 8, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A full brunch menu will be serve and bottomless mimosas or bloody Marys offered. Rock Rooster Arrighi will perform from noon to 2 p.m.

Several chain restaurants and other eateries are open for Mother’s Day this year, and some are offering specials.

Below are a few options to get you started, featuring everything from casual to fine dining. As always, it’s advisable to call ahead to make sure the restaurants in the Sarasota area are participating and to inquire about any COVID-19 restrictions or limitations.

Applebee’s is adding a $10 bonus card to the purchase of a $50 gift card for Mother’s Day and other special occasions, including graduations and Father’s Day.

Bob Evans is featuring brunch meals made with fresh-cut strawberries. Its to-go meals feed up to six people, and they are available for curbside pickup or delivery when customers order online.

Bonefish Grill is open for dine-in and carryout meals on Mother’s Day. Its “Family Bundles” meals include salad, fresh bread and pesto, and house-baked cookies

The Capital Grille is accepting reservations for Mother’s Day. The restaurant included a “polite notice” on its reservations page stating that “to better deliver on our promise of a refined atmosphere, proper dress is required.” That excludes gym attire, sweatpants, tank tops, hats, clothing with offensive language or images, and exposed undergarments.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar opens early at 11 a.m. on both May 7 and 8 with its Mother’s Day 3-Course Menu featuring a hand-cut filet mignon and pairing of the diner’s choice.

Kona Grill offers a weekend brunch special with deals on mimosas and signature brunch dishes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, including Mother’s Day.

Morton’s, The Steakhouse is accepting reservations for Mother’s Day, and also will bring the meal to Mom in select locations.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is offering its prix fixe Mother’s Day meal, including a starter, entrée, side and dessert, from May 6-8.

Seasons 52 Fresh Grill | Wine Bar is offering Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. to noon and is making its dinner menu available all day.
