Mother’s Day is May 9, a day dedicated to expressing gratitude and love toward moms and other maternal figures. It’s a day often filled with family time, gifts, good food and great company. In Orlando, there are many events that offer the chance to bond with mom. Here are a few.

  • The City of Winter Park brings arts and crafts to families in the form of flower pots at Ward Park. Attendees of “Blooming for Mothers” are invited to adorn a flower pot with paint and stickers, which can be given as a gift to mom. After decorating, staff will help fill each pot with a flower seed and soil. The free workshop takes place 10 a.m.-noon May 8 at 2222 Loch Lomond Drive in Winter Park. In addition, moms and kids can enjoy a “Mommy and Me” yoga in the garden at Mead Botanical Garden for $12 per family. The class is 10:30-11:30 a.m. at 1300 S. Denning Drive in Winter Park.
