Mother’s Day treats: KFC, Krispy Kreme, White Castle, and more offer deals and special items for mom
Mother’s Day 2023 is upon us and foodies can celebrate with special treats and deals for the matriarchs in their lives. A sampling of a few offerings are below.
KFC
KFC is offering free KFC nuggets in honor of moms everywhere through Sunday.
The “Appreciation Meal includes 12 of the fried chicken chain’s recently-launched nuggets for free, along with the purchase of either 8-piece Extra Crispy chicken tenders or chicken on the bone in either Original Recipe or Extra Crispy.
The $29.99 meal includes two large homestyle sides, four biscuits and KFC dipping sauces.
A free downloadable Mother’s Day card will be emailed to customers at the email address they provided when ordering their meal through the KFC website or mobile app.
In the promotion announcement, the company touted sales of nearly 400,000 buckets of fried chicken each Mother’s Day, making it one of its busiest days of the year. This year, they’re paying it forward.
“Moms love their little nuggets – both their kids and their fried chicken,” KFC marketing chief Nick Chavez said in a statement. “The KFC Nuggets of Appreciation meal makes it easy for her to enjoy both with a meal the whole family will love this Mother’s Day. With new KFC Nuggets included for free, it’s KFC’s way of showing appreciation for moms everywhere.”
Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme is making Mother’s Day a little sweeter.
To commemorate the special day, the doughnut chain is selling four new options in a 16-count box branded as “Minis for Moms” now through May 14. The collection includes flavors such as Chocolate Iced Rose, Strawberry Iced Heart and Cookies & Kreme.
The promotion is available in-store and can be scheduled for delivery or preordered on Krispy Kreme’s app and website. On Mother’s Day weekend (May 12-13), Krispy Kreme is offering a $0 delivery fee to customers who place an online or in-app delivery order for any item on the menu.
Milk Bar
New York-born dessert destination Milk Bar has a new assortment of sweets for mom’s big day.
As a part of their spring 2023 lineup, the flagship bakeries led by chef Christina Tosi are now selling the Blueberry Muffin Cake and Blueberry Muffin Truffles. Both desserts remix the flavors of a classic blueberry muffin into “a buttery, lightly-lemony dessert sensation, perfect for serving up to the mom in your life morning, noon or night.”
Also on deck are a Birthday Latte Sundae and the Cherry Cola Cake, which is inspired by the soda cakes found in Midwest grocery store bakeries.
Tate’s Bake Shop
The Southampton, N.Y.-based company has gift baskets made for any mom with a sweet tooth — even gluten-free and vegan moms.
Gift baskets available on the website to ship nationwide include the Dessert Bar Gift Box-Gluten Free Blondies & Brownies ($27), the 6-Pack Vegan Variety Chocolate Chip & Vanilla Maple Cookies ($35), the Thank You for All You Do Small (for $26) (including signature crispy chocolate chip cookies, butter crunch cookies and a fudgy brownie bar).
White Castle
The mini burger chain will offer up one dessert on a stick for free with any purchase. Customers who use a digital coupon through White Castle’s website, social media platforms and promotional emails will get to choose between a skewered slice of a fudge-dipped brownie, strawberry cheesecake, or butter cake on a popsicle stick.
