ORANGE COUNTY, CA— Don't let Mom get short shrift on her big day because you're hunkering down at home. You still can set a splendid spread this Sunday, Mother's Day, as restaurants throughout Orange County are stepping up with take-out and delivery specials.

Highlighted below are some of the top options available from nearby eateries, including local hot-spots Five Crowns, Farmhouse at Roger's Gardens, Coastal Kitchen and Bling Pig, plus such chains as Olive Garden, Marie Callender's and CPK. (Bayside Restaurant is hosting parking lot concerts with its pick-up orders. That sounds fun!)

BLAZE PIZZA: Dads will be busy, while moms relax with this Mother’s Day promotion, available Sunday, May 10. The "Dad Duty DIY Pizza Kit" features enough fresh scratch-made pizza dough, sauce and customizable toppings for four small pizzas. BLIND PIG KITCHEN + BAR: Treat Mom to a three-course meal with The Blind Pig's Mother’s Day Steak and Salmon Kits. Each serves four to six, with two appetizers, entrees, sides and dessert. The Steak Kit ($165) comes with four petite filet mignons, cooking instructions, mashed potatoes and broccolini. The Salmon Kit ($130) includes four salmon filets, cooking instructions, basmati rice and jumbo asparagus. Locations are in Rancho Santa Margarita and Yorba Linda. DAPHNE’S: This Mediterranean chain is offering a buy-one, get-one-50-percent-off special for Mother's Day. The deal includes such starters as lemon chicken soup and fire feta & pita, plus entrees like the Greek-style fish plate and surf-and-turf. EDDIE V'S: The restaurant's Mother's Day to-go menu features a four-course, dinner with a choice of herb-roasted tenderloin or miso-marinated Chilean sea bass. The package serves four to six at $195. Entrees come with truffle macaroni and cheese, asparagus, potato gratin, bananas Foster butter cake, plus hand-dipped chocolate strawberries and a long-stem rose. EL POLLO LOCO: Check out this special for Loco Reward members: the $20 Familia Dinner available for Mother’s Day weekend that includes 12 pieces of fire-grilled chicken, three large sides, tortillas and salsa. To redeem the deal, from May 8 through May 10, Loco Rewards members can purchase through El Pollo Loco drive-thrus, ahead via mobile pick-up, take-out or get it delivered. FARMHOUSE AT ROGER'S GARDENS: Courtesy of Chef Rich Mead, at-home diners can enjoy Mother's Day Brunch and Dinner specials to-go, including "Cherries Jubilee" French toast and filet mignon with port sauce. The meals are for two, but can be customized for larger parties. Cocktails and floral bouquets from Rogers Gardens can be added. FIVE CROWNS: If the special woman in your life deserves a meal fit for a queen, consider Five Crowns' Mother's Day to-go menu. Available for delivery or curbside pick-up, options include such starters as lobster bisque or Pride of the Crowns Salad, plus brunch or dinner entrees like spring vegetable quiche or swordfish, and, of course, family-style prime rib dinners. FLOWER CHILD: This restaurant, that prides itself on offering healthy eats, has a Family Pack for four to six starting at $40, offering a choice of chicken, steak or salmon, a large chopped vegetable salad and choice of two large sides. Beer and bottled wine are 50-percent off. And a 35-percent discount, not valid with other promotions, is offered on curbside pick-up and delivery orders placed Sunday through Thursday.
