After you treat mom to dinner, plan a fun event for her on Mother's Day. She deserves more than just a meal, although that's always a nice gesture.

See a concert, comedian, a play or visit a park or a ballgame Sunday, May 14.

The musical "Sister Act," based on the popular from the 1992 movie of the same name starring Whoopi Goldberg, returns to Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. The Bonita Springs Concert Band performs a concert from 2-4 p.m. May 14 at Riverside Park, 10450 Reynolds St., Bonita Springs. Conductor Gary E. Smith will lead the band and the featured guest is Rock Ciccarone. The program includes Pinkzebra's "Fanfare for a New Era," Claude Smith's "Emperata Overture" and "Jazz It Up!" arranged by Victor López. Freewill offering. Take a walk in Lakes Regional Park

After brunch or dinner with mom, head to Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Drive, in Fort Myers. Many consider the 279-acre park ― among the most visited of Lee County Parks & Recreation’s sites ― as the “Central Park” of the county. Enjoy a nice walk on the parks' trails and take in the sights and sounds of the wildlife. Dogs are not allowed. Go see new 'Book Club' movie

The film "Book Club: The Next Chapter" opens this weekend. A sequel to the 2018 "Book Club," the new 107-minute comedy stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen. Attend a Mighty Mussels ball game
