Motorcycle accident sends Rock Port man to hospital

Sep. 17—A Rock Port man suffered serious injuries after crashing his motorcycle at approximately 12 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Michael W. Maifeld, 49, was reportedly driving east on Route AA, 2 miles Northwest of Tarkio, Missouri, when he crossed the center line, ran off the north side of the road and crashed into a culvert. Maifeld was exempt from wearing a safety device.

According to Highway Patrol Crash Reports, Maifeld was transported by Atchison-Holt EMS to Mosaic Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, to receive treatment for his injuries.
