Motorcycle accidents take lives of Woolwich, Pennsauken men

HARRISON TWP. - A motorcylist was fatally injured in a traffic accident here, police say.

Michael McCulley, 61, of Woolwich was pronounced dead at the scene of the Oct. 19 crash at Mullica Hill and Lambs roads, according to a police account.

It was at least the second fatal motorcycle accident in South Jersey this month.

A motorcyclist identified only as a 33-year-old Pennsauken man died when he struck the rear of a vehicle while crossing the eastbound Walt Whitman Bridge over Gloucester City on Oct. 12, according to the Delaware River Port Authority.

The Harrison Township accident occurred around 4:15 p.m., when McCulley's westbound motorcycle "passed stopped westbound traffic at the red light, entering the intersection," said a police account.

An eastbound pickup truck turned into the motorcycle's path while making a left turn, it said.

The pickup truck's driver was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

The accident remains under investigation.
