Illinois woman dies in motorcycle crash in DeKalb County

A woman died Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 59 in DeKalb County, according to a release from the Alabama State Troopers.

Teresa Nichols, 54, from Harrisburg, Illinois, was fatally injured when the Harley Davidson motorcycle on which she was a passenger on left the road and overturned at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

The motorcycle's rider, Richard Cole, 57, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The crash occurred about 4 miles south of Collinsville near the interstate's 201-mile marker.

No other information was available. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the crash.
