Motorcyclist airlifted to area hospital after wreck on Martin Way East near Lacey

A motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in critical but stable condition Friday morning after a wreck at the intersection of Martin Way East and Ranger Drive Southeast outside Lacey.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the collision.

Lacey Fire District 3 also responded to the incident. Battalion Chief Tim Hulse said they were dispatched at about 10:20 a.m. to reports of an adult male down on the road and unresponsive. Gas was leaking from his motorcycle.

When crews arrived, Hulse said they found the man in critical condition and in need of advanced life support. The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries.

Medics stabilized the motorcyclist at the scene and then transported him by ambulance to a landing zone to be flown by Airlift Northwest to Harborview.
