Motorcyclist dies after being hit by truck on Hageman Rd.: CHP

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A motorcyclist is dead after being struck by a pickup truck on Hageman Road Friday afternoon.

CHP officers were dispatched to the crash between a motorcycle and a Dodge Ram just before 3 p.m.

The 50-year-old motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Hageman Road approaching Brant Rd. The 23-year-old driver of the eastbound truck, traveling around 57 miles per hour, crossed over the double yellow lines and collided with the motorcycle causing fatal injuries to the rider, according to CHP.

Both vehicles came to a stop on the shoulder of Hageman Road, which was closed for two hours while officials investigated the crash. The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries.

Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
