Motorcyclist dies after crash in Templeton. CHP details how head-on collision occurred

A motorcyclist died Saturday after a head-on collision with a car in Templeton, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.

About 11:55 a.m., Nancy Sznejkowski, 79, was driving a car and entering a slight right-hand curve heading eastbound on Peachy Canyon Road going about 25 mph.

Oliver Raymond, 78, leaned into the curve going about 40 mph.

Raymond crossed over from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane, striking the left front side of the car, according to the news release.

Raymond fell off his motorcycle and onto an embankment. He was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital and pronounced dead at 12:33 p.m.

Sznejkowski was not hurt. The CHP said drug or alcohol use was not suspected.

Both Sznejkowski and Raymond are Paso Robles residents.
