Motorcyclist dies in Fairfield County crash; driver turned in front of bike, police say

A collision Thursday Fairfield County's Clearcreek Township killed a motorcycle rider and left an SUV driver with minor injuries.

Leroy Clark IV, 59, was westbound on Tarlton Road on his 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when Karen Ash, 72, traveling east, made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Clark struck Ash’s 2022 Hyundai Tucson and traveled off the side of the road. Both Ash and Clark are Stoutsville, Ohio residents, police said.

Authorities pronounced Clark dead at the at the scene, while Ash underwent treatment for minor injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Lancaster post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
