Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle crash in Bath Township

A 28-year-old Peninsula man died Tuesday afternoon after his motorcycle crashed into a car on state Route 18 in Bath Township.

Martin A. Upp was pronounced dead at the scene, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. He was wearing a helmet, the highway patrol said in a news release late Wednesday night.

Upp's 2008 Honda CBR6000 was going east on state Route 18, crossed the center line and hit a westbound 2017 Mazda MX-5 shortly before 4 p.m., the highway patrol said in the news release.

The driver of the Mazda, a 55-yar-old Wadsworth man, was wearing a seat belt and not injured, the highway patrol said.

The highway patrol said the crash remained under investigation.
