Motorcyclist in fatal Queens crash was coming home from overnight work shift, grieving mom says

The grieving mom of a motorcyclist who died in a Queens crash said Sunday her son was on his way home from work when he got into the deadly wreck.

Francisco “Frankie” Santiago, 31, was riding his motorcycle on Atlantic Ave. in Richmond Hill when he ran a red light and hit a 2016 Subaru Impreza making a left onto Lefferts Blvd. about 7:40 a.m. Saturday, police said.

“Frankie had a good heart. That’s my boy,” Santiago’s mother said outside his Williamsburg, Brooklyn, home. “Oh God, I don’t know what to say. My baby!”

The Subaru’s driver, a 30-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and has not been charged.

Medics rushed Santiago to Jamaica Hospital, but his injuries proved fatal.

Santiago, who’s survived by two sisters, was coming home from an overnight shift working for a private sanitation company, his mother said.

“I don’t know what happened, if it was an accident, whose fault,” his distraught mother said. “We don’t know. We’re just trying to get through this.”
