Motorcyclist injured after three-vehicle crash near Albert Lea

Sep. 16—ALBERT LEA, Minn. — A motorcyclist from Kanawha, Iowa was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 near Albert Lea on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2023.

A Kenworth with semi-trailer was Southbound turning left across all southbound lanes of traffic to enter an on ramp to Interstate 35 southbound. The two Harley Davidsons were southbound to the rear of the Kenworth. The two Harley Davidsons skidded and laid down their motorcycles, according to the report.

One of the motorcyclists, Tanner William Thompson of Kanawha, Iowa, 21, had non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Albert Lea Hospital and Clinic.

The other motorcyclist, Christopher Lacarr Stamps of Mason City, Iowa and the Kenworth driver, Anthony Neil Lacy were not injured and were not transported to a care facility.

The Albert Lea Police Department, Albert Lea Fire Department, Mayo Ambulance also responded to the scene.
