A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was injured in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.  Motorcycle traffic is high in the area due to Bike Week, which started Friday.

The 22-year-old man driving the motorcycle was from Coshocton, Ohio, and his passenger was a 20-year-old woman from Daytona Beach, according to the FHP.

The two were traveling south on the motorcycle on John Anderson Highway north of Bridle Ridge about 3 a.m. when for unknown reasons the motorcyclist lost control of the bike, a 2007 Honda VTX, the FHP stated.

Google maps indicates a Bridge Ridge Court, although the FHP release calls it just Bridle Ridge.

The motorcycle went off the right grassy shoulder and onto its side, the FHP stated. The motorcyclist and passenger separated from the bike, the FHP stated. The bike went into the woodline and hit a tree.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet, according to the FHP.
