Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle crash on Mt. Aetna Road Wednesday afternoon

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Mt. Aetna Road, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe in the 900 block of Mt. Aetna Road, according to the sheriff's office, which was dispatched about 3 p.m.

The individual was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where the person later died, the sheriff's office said in a post on its Facebook page Wednesday evening. The person's name was not released.

There were no other injuries. A third vehicle was hit by debris from the collision, police said.

The road was closed for about two hours and an accident reconstructionist unit is investigating the crash.

More details were unavailable late Wednesday.
