Motorcyclist seriously hurt after hit-and-run crash in Santa Rosa

(KRON) — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Rosa on Tuesday, the Santa Rosa Police Department said. The driver of the pickup truck that hit the motorcycle remains at large.

The crash happened at the intersection of Hopper Avenue and Airway Drive at about 2:55 p.m. Police arrived to find the driver of the motorcycle unresponsive in the street.

Witnesses told police that the motorcyclist was going eastbound on Hopper Avenue and drove through a green light. The driver of the truck tried to turn left onto southbound Airway Drive in front of the motorcycle and the vehicles collided.

The driver sped off. Police said he was driving a gray or silver Ford F-150 that likely has front-end damage.

Police described the motorcyclist’s injuries as life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital after the crash.
