Motorcyclists, driver injured during 3-vehicle crash in Apple Valley

Three people riding motorcycles were ejected and injured after they crashed into the side of a truck over the weekend in Apple Valley.

The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that at 5:27 p.m. on Sunday, deputies and Apple Valley Fire personnel responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Apple Valley Road and Symeron roads.

Deputies determined that two motorcycles, a 2005 Honda and a 2005 Yamaha, were southbound on Apple Valley Road and approaching Symeron Road.

During that time, a 2015 Ford F-150 truck was eastbound on Symeron Road and preparing to turn north onto Apple Valley Road when the motorcycle crashed into the driver's side.

The driver of the 2005 Yamaha was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered major injuries. The driver and passenger of the 2005 Honda were both ejected from their motorcycle and suffered major injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 suffered unknown injuries.

The cause of the traffic collision is currently unknown and is being investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department's Major Accident Investigation Team.

All lanes of Apple Valley Road, between Yaqui and Mondamon roads, were closed for about four hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence.

The condition of those injured was unknown on Tuesday morning.
