Motorcyclist suffers 'life-threatening injuries' after Milford accident

MILFORD — An unidentified motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Friday morning after a crash on Purchase Street, authorities said.

The man was taken by medical rescue helicopter to UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after the 10:30 a.m. crash, according to Deputy Police Chief Robert Tusino.

"He had significant traumatic injuries," Tusino said.

The man was riding a motorcycle on Purchase Street from Dilla Street and toward Main Street when he collided with a car that was exiting Fountain Street, Tusino said. There is a stop sign on Fountain Street, but it's not clear whether the driver stopped.

Police do not know the identity of the motorcyclist as he did not have identification on him, Tusino said. The man is believed to be in his mid-20s.

The crash remains under investigation and no one has been charged.
