The Motown Museum will reopen for public tours Feb. 22 after being closed nearly three months because of expansion construction.

The museum closed Nov. 28 amid work on the third and final phase of expansion, which remains underway.

“Welcoming guests back into Motown Museum is like welcoming family back home,” said Robin Terry, Motown Museum chairwoman and CEO, in a statement. “We know this year will be unlike anything we’ve experienced before as we continue to make progress on the expansion. We appreciate the support of the community and Motown fans around the world as we continue to build a lasting legacy.”

The Motown Museum launched its expansion plans and fundraising campaign in 2016. In December, the campaign hit its previously announced goal of $55 million, but that target has been bumped to $65 million because of rising construction costs.
