Motylinski and Lebeck are Youths of the Month

Natalie Motylinski and Catie Lebeck are the Monroe Exchange Club’s Youths of the Month for October.

Natalie is a senior at Ida High School, where she has participated on the varsity cross-country and track teams. She holds the IHS girl’s long jump record. She was also honored with the Underclassman Award and the Academic All-Star award during her junior year. Natalie participates in 4-H and she is vice president of the Junior Livestock Association for the Monroe County Fair. She will be inducted in the Ida High School National Honor Society this month. She is the daughter of Patrick and Kathryn Motylinski of Ida.

Catie is a senior at Monroe High School, where she is currently president of the Student Council and a member of the Delton Osborne Chapter of National Honor Society. She has been on the varsity track and cross-country teams since freshman year. Catie was awarded first-place in the Esri Map Michigan Contest 2022. She currently works as an intern in the Monroe County Planning Department, focusing on geospatial and data sciences. She dances at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts. Catie is the daughter of Daniel and Rachel Lebeck of Monroe.

“Both Natalie and Catie are outstanding representatives of their schools and community,” the club said.

Each week during October, they will attend the Exchange Club’s weekly meetings at the Monroe Golf and Country Club to provide members with an update about their school and community.

“The Exchange Club’s Youth of the Month Program recognizes hard-working high school seniors who demonstrate high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership,” the club said. “Students who are seniors from the Exchange Club’s five designated Junior Exchange Club Programs at Airport High School, Ida High School, Jefferson High School, Monroe High School and Saint Mary Catholic Central High School are eligible.”

Natalie and Catie are now eligible to apply for the Exchange Club of Monroe’s Youth of the Year Scholarship of $1,250. The recipient of this local award is eligible for the Michigan District Youth of the Year Award ($1,000) and the National Youth of The Year Award ($15,000).
