Mount Dora High Air Force JROTC earns Silver Star award

Cadets at the Mount Dora High Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps were recognized with the “Silver Star” award Friday.

They earned this Community Service with Excellence Award for the 2021-2022 academic year.

This award recognizes the top 5% of all AFJROTC units for their work with the local community.

Lake County Public Schools said Mount Dora High has received this honor five times in seven years.

Along with the cadets’ contributions, Mount Dora High instructors Maj. (Ret) Andrew Scott and SMSgt (Ret) Dennis Crum were acknowledged for their training.
