The staffer told the principal and asked the school resource officer to help bring the students to the office.

The 15-year-old denied smoking on campus and said he was looking for his AirPods. Told he would be searched, he reluctantly emptied his pockets, which contained, among other things, an asthma inhaler, cell phone and AirPods.

When the police officer searched his backpack, he found a 9 mm handgun loaded with 13 rounds.
