Miller has been a faculty member at the university since 2004.

“Nature an Impetus Toward Abstraction” was the theme of her Spring 2020 sabbatical and Fall 2021 research appointment. Her painting, “Walhalla Plateau #1,” created during the sabbatical was accepted into the 2021 Butler Midyear at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.

The Fall 2021 research appointment continued her creative process with “Calm and a Horse," an oil on canvas triptych that was acquired by the Summa Health System for the Juve Behavioral Health Pavilion in Akron.
