Mount Union grads honored with baccalaureate ceremony
In one of their final acts as University of Mount Union students, members of the Class of 2022 took part Friday in the 176th Baccalaureate Ceremony on campus. The baccalaureate is a religious service for the graduating class, and precedes the university’s commencement ceremony, which then took place Saturday. During the service, interim university Chaplain Stephen Dages read the Gospel of Luke, 10:25-37, which is the parable of the Good Samaritan. Peyton Zamarelli and Nathaniel Teal performed the choral anthem "I Love You, Lord" by Lauren Kline, with arrangement by Lloyd Larson. Graduates received a succulent plant after the ceremony, and they featured words of wisdom on the planter. About 400 students received diplomas during the graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies.
