Mount Union sets education symposium this week

ALLIANCE − The University of Mount Union’s School of Education, in conjunction with Kent State University’s School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies, will play host to an Education Symposium focused on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging titled “Building Belonging.” The event will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday and Friday in Brush Hall on Mount Union’s campus. This event does not require registration and is open to the public.

The first day will start with a feature presentation by Northern Cheyenne Middle School Students and Akron’s Lippman School partners, while the second day will kick off with the keynote speaker, 2022 National Teacher of the Year Kurt Russell.

Other sessions include presentations from Kent State and Mount Union faculty, Akron City Schools and Alliance City Schools. For more information on the symposium, visit mountunion.edu/building-belonging-event.
