J.B. Smoove can now add “Emmy Award winner” before his name.

The Mount Vernon-bred comedian, known for his role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has won a coveted trophy for best actor in a short-form comedy or drama series for his performance on “Mapleworth Murders,” one of the Quibi shows available to Roku since the failed streaming platform went belly-up after only six months.

His surprising win marked the only Emmy Award given to Quibi at the 2021 Creative Arts Emmys ceremony, which took place Sunday at Los Angeles Microsoft Theater.

Overall, the ambitious Jeffrey Katzenberg-founded company earned three total Emmy Awards in its short lifespan, all for acting. Last year, “Hamilton” star Jasmine Cephas Jones and Laurence Fishburne won Emmys for the gritty drama series “#FreeRayshawn” in 2020.

The win for Smoove, whose given name is Jerry Angelo Brooks, proves that it does get greater later for the 55-year-old funnyman, who has close to 30 years of experience under his belt.

His gut-busting antics date back to ‘90s classic television shows such as “Def Comedy Jam,” “Uptown Comedy Club” and BET’s “Comic View,” alongside comedy films including “Hall Pass” and Think Like a Man.”

The former “Saturday Night Live” writer’s recent works include “The Last O.G.,” “Spider Man: Far from Home” and “Crank Yankers.”

Since 2007, Smoove’s scene-stealing role as Larry David’s bold, brazen and no-holds-barred permanent houseguest Leon Black on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” gained him mainstream notoriety.

Smoove can currently be seen (and heard) embodying the spirit of Julius Caesar in the new ad campaigns for Caesar’s Sportsbook.

The Creative Arts Emmys are hosted the weekend before the primetime ceremony and celebrate technical awards like casting, production and set design.
