Mountain West basketball: Where the Rams Stand Days From Tourney

The most exciting time of the college basketball season is the months of March and April. This is when the regular season ends, and conference tournaments commence, culminating in the NCAA March Madness tournament. During this period, the pressure gets more intense, and teams understand that every game is a must-win or risk elimination.

Colorado State University’s women’s and men’s basketball teams are gearing up for the Mountain West Basketball Championships, which will take place in Las Vegas in less than a week. Each year, the entire conference assembles at the Thomas & Mack Center to compete for a few days and determine a winner.

The Mountain West Basketball Championships for women will begin on Sunday, March 5th, and continue until March 8th, with the first-round matchups scheduled for the Thomas & Mack Center. In the first round, the No. 8 University of Nevada, Reno will face off against No. 9 California State University, Fresno at 2 pm, followed by No. 7 United States Air Force Academy against No. 10 San Jose State University at 4:30 pm and No. 6 Boise State University against No. 11 Utah State University at 7 pm. The winners of these games will progress to play against the top three seeds, UNLV, Wyoming, and CSU, respectively.

For the fan out there asking themselves what is the best betting site for sports, there are pointers to consider before placing any wagers. There are several sportsbooks for college football and other sports, but various features such as user security, variety of games, bonuses, and odds must be factored.

CSU Rams are in the running for the Mountain West tournament title this year. The Rams were tied for third place with San Diego State, Boise State, and New Mexico before winning their last game against Boise State 66-51 to secure the third seed. The undefeated UNLV already won the regular season title this year, but the Rams can win the tournament title.

Last year, the Rams were the No. 6 seed in the Mountain West tournament and made it to the championship game. Unfortunately, they lost to UNLV 75-65 in the final, ending their unexpected run. Led by McKenna Hofschild, who is a semifinalist for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award and a finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award, the Rams have proven to be a formidable opponent in the conference. They have had five conference losses by less than five points and gave the undefeated UNLV Lady Rebels a tough time in a New Year’s Eve game, losing in overtime, which is the closest any Mountain West team has come to breaking UNLV’s impressive conference-winning streak.

The Rams Men’s Basketball Happy to be there

The men’s basketball team at Colorado State University has had a disappointing season, with a 5-12 record in conference play. They had a strong start to the season, with an impressive win over Saint Mary’s College, which was then ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll and is currently ranked No. 17 in the country. However, their struggles during conference play have left the team with many questions.

The Mountain West Basketball Championships for men follow the same format as the women’s tournament and will take place from March 8-11.
