Passion for cricket runs deep in Pakistan. Or perhaps that should be high – up into the mountains of Abbottabad, where a local tournament on perhaps the world’s most unlikely pitch culminated in joyful scenes on August 7.
Journalist Shakir Abbasi shared footage of the final moments of the tournament, playing out in the village of Nakkar Mojwal on what he called “the most unique cricket ground of the world” – a dirt track surrounded by steep hills on which spectators gathered.
