Mourners Wait by National COVID Memorial Wall to See Queen Lying in State

Mourners waiting to see the late Queen Elizabeth II lying in state in London passed by the UK’s National COVID Memorial Wall on Thursday, September 15.

Footage recorded by Ranbir Sahota shows a long line of people standing alongside the National COVID Memorial Wall. The wall consists of hand-painted hearts representing Britons who died from COVID-19.

Sahota said she joined the queue at around 8 am at Southwark Cathedral.

An online tracker said the line was approximately 3.5 miles long at 10:48 am. By afternoon the line had grown to 4.2 miles. Credit: Ranbir Sahota via Storyful
