Mouth-watering restaurant specials for National Sandwich Month

If ever there was a need for comfort food, it is now.

Co-owned by hero hoopsters Udonis “UD” Haslem and Dwyane Wade, this restaurant has a new menu item for National Sandiwch Month: UD’s Fried Chicken Sandwich with Bell and Evans chicken breast, Boston lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, house-made dill pickles, garlic aioli, UD’s special sauce on a brioche bun and served with a side of Cajun fries for $16.

Brighton Beach Bagel and Bakery

Brighton Beach Bagel’s Monstah Lobstah roll is a family secret, according to the owners. The sandwich is made with 8 ounces of hand-picked Maine Lobster on a house bun or made inside out for $21.99. The roll is served with coleslaw and potato, cucumber or macaroni salad. You can substitute French fries or onion rings for $1. The sandwich — with a few variations — is also offered at Brighton’s sister restaurant, the New York Bagel Factory and Cafe, 2554 N. University Drive, Coral Springs. NewYorkBagelFactory.com.

CoreLife Eatery

The new health-conscious fast-casual restaurant opened in June and is offering Naan bread “taco” sandwiches for $3.95 and you can get 25% off every Sunday at the Boca Raton location using the code “FUNDAY.”

The new menu item for National Sandwich Month is a take on a classic crispy chicken sandwich. This one is made with spicy American Cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch, homemade pickles, jalapeños, lettuce, onions and served on a brioche bun for $17. You can have a side of fries, sweet potato fries or arugula salad.

FiWe Caribbean Cuisine

For this month, jerk chicken, stew chicken, curry chicken, and veggie wrap sandwiches are $8.99 (usually $12.99).

Gordo’s Fat Subs

Located in the Trinity Center shopping mall in Pompano Beach, this sandwich shop has been an institution for almost 20 years. Known for the subs made with Boar’s Head meats and bread from a 100-year-old South Florida commercial bakery, some of the best reviews are for the Philly cheesesteaks. Owner Ariel Poplack says he’ll give a 10% discount to anyone mentioning this Sun Sentinel article or the reporter’s byline (valid for dining-in or pick-up).

The Hummus House

Husband and wife team of Muli and Ella Shalmi opened their eatery in 2017, making use of Muli’s knowledge from being in an Israeli kitchen since he was 14 years old. For National Sandwich Month, they have a Falafel Pita Sandwich offer where if you buy one for $9.95, you get a second Falafel Pita Sandwich for half off (cannot be combined with other discounts).

It’s A Cubano B

The signature Big Cubano Sandwich is a must-try, made with slow roasted pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard, housemade pickles on pressed Cuban bread for $11.50.

The Lincoln Eatery

This food hall in South Beach is serving up several sandwich specials for National Sandwich Month.

C-Food Shack has a Grouper Deluxe Fish Sandwich for $16. This is the first United States locations for the Caribbean seafood concept based in the Bahamas.

Cubanitos Cubano has a Cubano Sandwich for $14.90. This eatery just opened this month.

Le Petiti Bistrot is offering a French Club sandwich for $12.

MED by Marble and Rye has a New York-style pastrami sandwich made with Black Angus brisket for $18.95 for six ounces and $27.95 for 12 ounces.

Necessary Purveyor fare focuses on farm-focused fare, especially with Southern flavor profiles. Case in point: the Sweet Grass Pimento Sandwich, a staple of the South, but here made with Bettant Bakery and Cafe sourdough with small batch pimento cheese from dairy farmers in Georgia, heirloom tomato, and cracked pepper for $11.50.

Monster Subs

This restaurant in the Gateway Plaza is offering their Classic Italian sub with chips and a drink for $7.99 all month long. The Italian sub is made with ham, salami, capicola, lettuce, tomato, white onion, olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper and a dash of oregano on a Hoagie roll.

Top Round is featuring secret menu items for National Sandwich Month, including fan favorites in roast beef and chicken categories (there are also burgers).

Ask for the Black and Blue Roast Beef Sandwich (slow roasted beef, black pepper blue cheese, caramelized onions on a sesame bun) and the Carne Asada Sandwich (grilled roast beef, chipotly mayo, queso fresco, chile peppers, tomato and onion on a sesame bun), both for $8.99 each.

Or the Bacon Chicken Caesar Sandwich (fried chicken breast, asiago cheese, bacon, Caesar dressing, pepperoncini peppers, lettuce and tomato on a butter toasted bun) for $8.59 and the Dagwood Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken breast, Provel cheese, Top Round sauce and mayo on a butter toasted bun) for $7.99
