The movie industry is changing, slowly but surely, with cinema-goers welcoming female-led – and female-made – movies with open arms.

The world of online streaming services, however, feels less inclusive and representative. That's why a group of movie fans has launched an exclusively women-focused platform for those of you left wanting by Netflix or Amazon Prime's libraries.

She Does Filmz is the exciting initiative, a monthly subscription service similar to its rivals but unique in its content: it only features movies made by women.

The "exclusively female-led film streaming service" costs £6.99 per month and features titles from around the world, both old and new, sourced from global prestigious film festivals.

She Does Filmz currently features the likes of Lucia Murat's Paris Square, Amandine Gay's Speak Up, Anna Jadowska's Wild Roses, and stylish '60s French film A Very Curious Girl.

The arrival of She Doez Films follows the success of female-led blockbusters, such as Margot Robbie's solo outing as Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

Explaining the significance of working on a film made by women, starring women, and also for women, Mary Elizabeth Winstead – who played Huntress – told Digital Spy that the experience on set was "incredible".

"It was an incredible environment to be in," she said. "I think we were all so excited that this film was even getting made that I was almost giddy just to be there and just to be there amongst all these really powerful, inspiring women."
