Movie nights in Stock’s Park return for the summer

The movie “Luca” will play in Mrs. Stock’s Park Friday as a part of the Movies in the Park program.

This series has been sponsored by the Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities for several years and is free and open to all guests.

Three movies are being shown over the course of the summer, one each in June, July, and August and begin at dark, around 10 p.m.

Sam Fry, marketing and communications coordinator for the BPU, said the movies are suitable for kids of all ages.

“This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy an open-air cinematic experience in one of the City of Hillsdale’s beautiful parks,” he said, “These are free for the community to attend, and offer a chance for Hillsdale’s families to have get out and have some wholesome fun on a Friday night.”

Mrs. Stock’s Park is located in downtown Hillsdale and movie screenings are subject to weather delays.

A statement from BPU encouraged attendees to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the movies and the outdoor experience.

“Just bring a cozy blanket or chair, find a great spot, and enjoy the show," Fry said.

The series is a part of BPU’s commitment to give back to the community.

“BPU staff members take pride in giving back to the community in a variety of ways," he said.

On Aug. 5, “Clifford: The Big Red Dog” will be shown.
