Movie theater at Victory and Skidaway in Savannah to reopen, looking to fill 40 jobs

The renovated movie theater in the Target and Home Depot shopping center is nearing completion, but the new owners need to fill dozens of jobs before that can happen.

NCG Cinemas is opening its luxe cinema at 1901 Victory Drive just in time for the release of "The Batman," starring indie darling and "Twilight" superstar Robert Pattinson. The film premieres on March 4.

To fill 40 job vacancies, NCG Cinemas will host a job fair on Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event seeks to fill full-and part-time jobs at the newly renovated movie theater. There are "immediate openings for full and part time positions in all roles including concessions, usher, box office, maintenance and janitorial, and assistant managers," a press release from the company states. Information on wages and benefits was not made readily available.

NCG Cinemas is a Michigan-based chain with 25 theatres nationwide. Savannah will be its 26th. The experience follows newer movie-going trends, including leather seats, assigned seating, free popcorn and refreshment refills and the latest Dolby surround sound.

“We can’t wait to bring an upgraded moviegoing experience to the Savannah community,” Jeff Geiger, CEO of NCG Cinema, said in a press release. “We know customers are excited to make themselves at home with us in the hostess city and we’re excited to find talented staff to help us start serving Savannah.”

For those interested in employment, the company asked applicants to prepare for on-spot hiring. That means bringing a photo ID, social security card and direct deposit information.
