Moving up the road, Wine Fest to be held at a new location

Dublin’s Bridge Park is to host the North Market Wine Fest on Sept. 16 and 17 when it re-emerges from a two-year hiatus caused by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The North Market Wine Fest began 20 years ago and until 2019, it was staged at North Market Downtown, 59 Spruce St.

The pandemic shuttered the wine festival in 2020 and last year.

“We decided we wanted to re-launch the event at our new location, North Market Bridge Park, and we are excited to do so this year,” said Meghan Brouillette, director of communications and marketing for North Market Downtown and North Market Bridge Park.

It is to be the first time Bridge Park has hosted the North Market Wine Fest.

The two-day festival is to feature wine distributors and wineries from across to globe to Bridge Park, according to Brouillette.

The North Market Wine Fest at Bridge Park is to be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 16 and 2 to 10 p.m. Sept. 17.

Advance tickets can be purchased until 3 p.m. Sept. 16 for $40 and are to be sold at the event for $45. Tickets are for admission to both days of the event and include 10 tasting tickets, a souvenir glass and a $10 gift card for food at North Market merchant vendors.

There is no fee for designated drivers and patrons not participating in wine tasting. Participating patrons must be at least 21 years of age and present valid identification.

Participating vendors are to include Heidelberg Distributing, Vanguard, Vintage and Skurnik wines.

Holly Sue, on-premises fine wine district manager for Heidelberg Distributing, said the Dayton-based company will showcase the products of two wineries at the festival − Imagery Winery and Tribute Winery.

Heidelberg Distributing, family owned and operated since 1938, is among the top-10 domestic distributors in the United States, distributing more than 10,000 unique styles of wine, beer, low-proof spirits and non-alcoholic products in Ohio and northern Kentucky.

The wineries to be featured at the festival are each owned by members of the Benziger family, according to Sue.

Both are California based. Imagery Winery has is connected to an art studio at its store in California while Tribute Winery pays homage to the family whose ancestors relocated from New York to California, Sue said.

Tribute Winery makes labels unique to the customer's request, according to Sue.

Live entertainment during the festival is to include performances by Bears on Unicycles, Jesse Michael Barr and New Standard Soul Jam.
