MPD: Man beats roommate with jack handle, steals $3k Gucci glasses

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man beat his roommate with a metal jack handle after they got into an argument inside their Parkway Village home late Saturday night.

Investigators said Travis Armstrong, 35, was arrested when he returned to the scene of the crime on Boxdale Street several hours later.

The victim reported Armstrong hit him in the head, the left side of his body, and left arm with the jack handle. The victim said Armstrong also took his $3,000 Gucci prescription glasses from his face during the attack.

The victim was treated at the hospital for knots on his head and scratches on his body.

Armstrong is also accused of giving police a false name when they took him into custody. He is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, criminal impersonation, and violation of parole.
