The number of lawmakers who want to terminate their mandates early is quite large, but they are "not being let go," the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, told Rada TV channel on Dec. 11.

"We are not letting people go anymore," Arakhamia said.ї“We say that we simply will not vote for it, because people have to sit until the end [of the current term of the Verkhovna Rada] and pass the laws necessary for the state.”

As of Dec. 11, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada has 400 MPs, while it should have 450, according to the law.

Lawmakers proposed to reduce the minimum number of members of parliamentary groups and factions for the duration of martial law by registering a relevant bill.

According to the current rules of procedure of the Rada, the number of MPs in a parliamentary group cannot be less than the number of MPs in the smallest faction created during the first session. Such a faction is Golos with 20 MPs. The parliamentary groups Restoration of Ukraine and For Future have 16 and 17 MPs.
