House of Gucci” is a biopic about the life of heir of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci and his wife Patrizia.

Starting in the late 1970s, the movie tells of their love and marriage, and how she got her mitts on the family business.

There is also his relationship, and hers, with the company founders, his dad and uncle.

Then there’s Maurizio’s murder.

“House of Gucci” is a fascinating glimpse into how addicting money and power can become, and how some people will do just about anything to get, and keep, both.

All of this is wrapped around Ridley Scott’s (“The Last Duel”) tight directing and some incredible acting.

The best acting on the list belongs to Lady Gaga whose sophomore performance proves her mind-blowing work in 2018’s, “A Star is Born” is no fluke.

Hand her the Oscar, Golden Globe and just about every other female acting award.

She absolutely owns “House of Gucci” and is the best acting I’ve seen done by anyone all year.

That’s saying a lot considering the acting caliber of co-stars Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jered Leto.

They — too — are very, very good as is Scott’s movie.

“House of Gucci” is the on track to not only get best acting nods, but it will pick up best picture, best director, and best screenwriting nominations, too.
