‘Mr. And Mrs. Smith’ Trailer: First Look At Donald Glover & Maya Erskine In Prime Video’s Reimagining – Update

UPDATED, 8 AM: We’re seeing the first footage of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Prime Video’s reimagining of New Regency’s 2005 Doug Liman-directed action comedy film. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine star as John and Jane Smith in the remake set to premiere on February 2 exlusively on Prime Video. Check out the teaser trailer above.

PREVIOUS, Nov. 16: Prime Video has set a winter release date for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, its reimagining of New Regency’s 2005 Doug Liman-directed action comedy film that starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. All eight episodes will release on February 2, 2024, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The release date was pushed to 2024 from its initially scheduled November window due to the dual Hollywood strikes.

From co-creators and executive producers Donald Glover (Swarm, Atlanta) and Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo), the series stars Glover as John Smith and Maya Erskine (PEN15) as Jane Smith.

In this version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travels, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan. The catch? New identities in an arranged marriage as Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith. Now hitched, John and Jane navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing a new relationship milestone. Their complex cover story becomes even more complicated when they catch real feelings for each other. What’s riskier: espionage or marriage?

In addition to starring, Glover is co-creator and exec producer on the series under his overall deal with Amazon Studios. Francesca Sloane is co-creator, executive producer and showrunner. New Regency’s Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer also executive produce. Amazon Studios is the studio.
