Mr. Simone Biles (AKA Jonathan Owens) is being read for filth for his comments on The Pivot podcast, which features former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder as host for a weekly sit-down with top athletes and entertainers.

On Owens’ recent episode, Crowder interrupted their football talk to ask, “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?” Owens, who plays safety for the Green Bay Packers, responded, “It’s really how she pulled me. That’s the question.”

In the comments of The Pivot episode that featured him, smellyshoes123ify wrote, “I think it’s about time that Owens steps back and has a good think about how to tell the story in a way that is humble, respectful and grateful. He comes across as if he’s trying to knock her down a few pegs or embarrass her.”

Commenter @keelhe893 said, “I can’t believe Jonathon was so tone deaf that he didn’t use this as an opportunity to compliment his wife by saying no she is the catch. Hopefully he was joking but I’m tired of BW being dissed as an option. … the things this woman has done in her sport should’ve made him feel like the luckiest man in the world. Sorry Simone, just know you are worth being pursued and prized. Prayers for their marriage. This was a cringe moment.”

The dragging continued on all social media platforms:

“How utterly stupid & disrespectful,” said syds180turn on X. “He should have kept all of that BS to himself. Damn, no one would know who he is if it wasn’t for Simone Biles. What man who is truly in love with a woman would try to diminish her in public or private. Simone needs to reasses this marriage.”

Another X user said, “Mind you he went undrafted, was waived by two teams, hasn’t won a single championship and is all around a below average player so what in his mind would make him think HE is the catch?!”

For her part, Biles had her husband’s back, replying to the backlash with “call me Jonathan Owens’ wife.”

Social media ain’t having that, either. Lifecoachshawn took to Tiktok to school the newlywed: “Simone, we love you too much to do that,” she said. “We’re not going to let you dim your light so his can shine.” She went on to praise other famous husbands—Serena Willliams’ husband, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, and signer Ciara’s husband, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, for supporting their wives the right way. The video drew 250K likes and nearly 11,000 comments.

But according to E News, Owens is still fighting this losing battle. His most recent IG post include a picture from the couple’s May wedding with the caption: “Unbothered 😂❤️ Just know we locked in over here 🤞🏽”
