MS Coast teen dies in early morning crash on I-10, one passenger life-flighted

Four male teens ages 17 and 18 were involved in an early morning crash Saturday that left the driver dead and a passenger seriously injured.

Braden Charles Miller, 18, died at the scene, said Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.

The crash happened at 2:48 a.m. Miller was driving westbound between the Biloxi River Bridge and the Cowan-Lorraine Road exit 38 when his Dodge Charger crashed after crossing the bridge.

“Speed was definitely a factor,” Switzer said. Miller was not wearing a seatbelt.

Investigators said that before the car left the road, it was traveling an estimated 147 mph. When it hit the trees on the edge of the road, “The vehicle disintegrated on impact,” according to the Gulfport Police report.

One of the teens in the car was taken to the hospital by life flight transported with serious injuries, said Sgt. Jason DuCré with Gulfport Police Department. The other two teens in the vehicle were not seriously injured, he said.

Miller, who was known as “Brado,” was a 2023 graduate of St. Martin High School and a student at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier.

A visitation will be Wednesday from 3-5 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. in west Jackson County.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up for the family to help with expenses.
