MSNBC's 'Hardball' host Chris Matthews recovering from prostate cancer surgery
Fans of "Hardball" may have noticed that host Chris Matthews hasn't been in his usual position on air for the last few nights, and now they're finding out why.
On Monday night, Matthews' fill in, Steve Kornacki, shared that Matthews had undergone surgery for prostate cancer and is currently recovering.
"Before we go tonight, Chris hasn’t been here the last few nights and he wanted to let you know why,” Kornacki said. “Chris is recovering from prostate cancer surgery last week.”
Kornacki added that the procedure went well, but that Matthews would be out for a few more days to "get back into fighting shape."
"I know he’s looking forward to getting back very soon," Kornacki concluded.
