MSP: Jackson woman in critical condition after Saturday crash

A Jackson woman involved in a vehicle crash Saturday evening in Allen Township is listed in critical condition at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

The woman was not further identified by the Michigan State Police who are investigating the incident.

A second Jackson woman from the same vehicle was transported by Reading Emergency Unit to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson for serious injuries.

The women were traveling eastbound on Jonesville Road when they were hit by a pickup truck traveling southbound on M-49. The driver of the pickup truck received minor injuries.

The intersection was closed to through traffic for hours while investigators pieced together what happened.

No other details have not been released by the MSP Jackson Post.

The Allen Township Fire Department, Litchfield Fire Department and Michigan Department of Natural Resources assisted on the scene.
