Michigan State Police looking for suspects in Kinderhook Township car theft

Michigan State Police issued an arrest warrant for two people who bought a car with a bad check.

Det.Sgt. Matt Berry said the deal occurred in the 700 block of South Angola Road in Kinderhook Township.

The suspects are identified as Brian David Martin, 59, and Angela Frances Plovie, 52, from the Roseville area. The couple met the alleged victim to buy a 1975 black Pontiac Firebird Grand AM.

Martin gave the seller a check that bounced, making the sale a vehicle theft.

The classic car has a historical Michigan registration plate on the back and a confederate flag decorative license plate on the front.

There is a large crack that splits the gold firebird emblem on the hood of the vehicle.

Det/Sgt. Berry said Martin and Plovie already had warrants out for their arrest with additional charges pending.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call MSP in Marshall at (269) 558-0500.

Law enforcement warns about selling large items and taking checks without proof the checks are valid.
