MSPCA-Angell staffers rescue nearly two dozen animals from the historic flooding area of Vermont

Nearly two dozen animals were rescued from the historic flooding that ravaged the Northeast leaving vast areas of Vermont underwater.

MSPCA-Angell staffers are mobilizing an emergency transport of nine dogs, eleven cats, and one chinchilla, with possibly more as the situation continues to evolve, from Central Vermont Humane Society who are overwhelmed with the animals and rising flood waters.

“Our disaster response program has never been more important,” MSPCA-Angell posted to their Facebook. “Our own resources are strained, with our shelters nearly full of pets awaiting new homes — but we simply cannot turn our back on the animals in Vermont who are desperate for help.”

Staffers are asking for emergency donations to help relocate, shelter and provide medical needs for the animals affected by the storm.
