MSU vs. Northwestern listed as one of 2021’s ‘Best Friday Night Matchups’
Michigan State’s season-opening road trip to Northwestern on Sept. 3 is considered one of the “Best Friday Night Matchups” of the 2021 college football season.
Big Game Boomer — a Twitter account known for creating college football-related rankings — revealed its top 25 Friday night games for the upcoming college football season, and the Spartans match-up vs. Northwestern cracked the list. Big Game Boomer has the Spartans’ match-up as the fifth best Friday night game this season.

Big Game Boomer has sometimes been a bit of a Twitter troll in these rankings, but it doesn’t appear that’s the case here. So it’s pretty cool to see the Spartans-Wildcats’ match-up get a little bit of recognition.
Kickoff for Michigan State-Northwestern is scheduled for 9 p.m. EDT on Sept. 3. The game will be televised on ESPN.
