Mt. Juliet business: Mapco/Jimmy John's, EV charging stations approved to replace BP/McDonald's

A Mapco convenience store that will incorporate a Jimmy John's restaurant and charging stations for electric vehicles is now approved on North Mt. Juliet Road near Interstate 40.

The plan would replace the combination BP gas station and McDonalds that now operates on the 1.4 acre site, according to plans voted on by Mt. Juliet's planning commission. Amazon lockers utilized for package deliveries will also be part of the development.

The new building will be 4,750 square feet with a drive-thru.

The gas station will have eight fuel pumps to serve 16 vehicles. The current BP station has four fuel pumps for eight vehicles.

Four electric vehicle charging stations are planned.

Efforts to reach the representative for the project was unsuccessful. It was uncertain when the BP and McDonald’s may close or the future Mapco and Jimmy John's will open.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill is tentatively scheduled to open at 30 Old Pleasant Grove Road in Mt. Juliet in November, according to the company.

The new Chipotle replaces the former Schlotzsky's restaurant at the address. The new Chipotle will feature a drive-thru pickup lane and a dining area.

Chipotle is also opening a new restaurant in Lebanon at 620 S. Cumberland Street in front of Lowe's.
